ACORT and ROSPiK signed the Memorandum of understanding

The Retail Companies Association (ACORT) and the Russian guild of bakers and confectioners (ROSPiK) signed the Memorandum on optimization of orders and deliveries of bakery and mealy and confectionery products.

The situation with returns was sensitive for bakers for many years. In February 2016, ACORT and ROSPiK signed an Agreement of cooperation within the framework of which was held several meetings devoted to the discussion of the problem of returns. The result of joint work was the decision on signing the Memorandum on optimization of orders and deliveries of bakery and mealy and confectionery products, aiming at minimization of volume of products, unsellable within the valid period of the sale.

At the moment, the document was supported by such retail chains as Magnit, Lenta, Metro AG and X5 Retail Group. The signing of the Memorandum shall become a signal to the market that the problem of return has a solution. The adoption of the Memorandum is a voluntary procedure, therefore, assumes a gradual accession to this document of other trade entities.

«In today's challenging economic environment, all of us need to learn to be zealous, sparingly and wisely use all available natural and man-made resources. The bread in Russia is traditionally in a special care that makes today's event even more meaningful for the consumer market», - commented the Chairman of the ACORT Presidium Ilya Lomakin-Rumyantsev.

«The Memorandum should be a phased plan. For the implementation of its provisions it is important to monitor the market and also to organize a series of training seminars concerning system of efficient procurement. It will gradually come to a complete refusal to return», said the President of ROSPiK Yury Katsnelson.
